The latest chapter of Hive Blog is here. This round is less about individual widgets and more about the foundation: your data now follows you across devices, the home feed finally learns what you read, and the whole app runs on a single edge platform with no backend server to maintain.

1. Your Bookmarks Now Follow You (Cross-Device Sync)

Saved posts used to live in a single browser's localStorage — switch to your phone and they were gone. No more.

• Cloudflare D1 as the source of truth for signed-in users, with localStorage kept as a fast write-through cache.
• Web ↔ Android sync. Bookmark a post in the browser and it shows up in the Android app after sign-in, and vice-versa.
• Guests keep the old behavior. Not signed in? Bookmarks stay local, exactly as before — nothing breaks.
• Merge, don't overwrite. On sign-in, remote and local bookmarks are merged into a union; any local-only items are pushed up automatically.

2. A "For You" Feed That Learns From You

The Trending / Hot / New lists are great for discovery, but they're the same for everyone. The new For You feed is yours alone.

• As you read, vote, and bookmark, a per-user tag affinity is built up in D1.
• For You blends ranked posts from your top affinity tags and interleaves them — so the feed reflects what you actually care about.
• Brand-new accounts see a friendly empty state until they've read a few posts.

3. Unified Search

A single search bar now reaches across the whole network:

• Posts by tag, sortable by Trending / Hot / New.
• Communities and people/accounts in dedicated tabs.
• Reachable from the top header on every page.

4. A Commercial-Grade Wallet

The wallet page was rebuilt end-to-end for clarity and trust:

• Cleaner balances for HIVE, HBD, and Hive Power, with Power Up / Power Down, delegation, savings, HBD conversion, and recurring transfers all surfaced where you'd expect them.
• Honest, readable transaction history instead of a raw ledger dump.

5. Fully Edge-Native: No Backend Server

The biggest change under the hood: there is no backend to run anymore.

• The frontend is a static SPA on Cloudflare Pages, deployed by direct upload.
• Same-origin Pages Functions handle the new per-user data (auth, bookmarks, reading history) backed by D1 — serverless, no process to keep alive.
• AI features (image generation and image-to-post writing) run on a dedicated Cloudflare Worker.
• Public content is still fetched directly from Hive in the browser; only your personal data touches D1.

6. Hive-Native Authentication for Personal Data

To write your private data (bookmarks, reading history) without ever running a traditional auth server, sign-in now proves ownership of your Hive posting key once per session:

• The edge issues a challenge; you sign it with your posting key (WIF or Keychain).
• The signature is verified against your account's on-chain posting keys, and a short-lived bearer token is issued for D1.
• No passwords, no separate accounts — your Hive identity is your identity.

TL;DR: Bookmarks sync across devices, the home feed is personalized, search is unified, the wallet got a proper redesign, and the whole thing now runs on Cloudflare's edge with zero servers to babysit.
