First Post ‐ This Is Why I Hive
This is my first post on Hive after making several first post on Hive in my head. So see this as an onboarding process where I tell the story of why I am here or maybe not.
But first things first, I do not procrastinate. I hate it so much that I put off making this post for 2 weeks despite my friend bugging me to just get on with it because she wants to be a hive mommy (yeah, I just made that up.)
I am not a perfectionist, so be assured that one of the reasons I delayed making this post is not because I want the words to taste like a chocolate bar dipped in milk. Or because I delayed printing some of my photos for over a year because I wasn't satisfied with the edit. I just wanted my first post to be.... em you know, perfect.
By now, you should know I am a photographer. To give it more niche, I do documentary photography. I would love to shoot stills for movie production and eventually delve into cinematography. One day I would also call myself a writer when I've written something worth writing, for now, I just write.
I also happen to be a Seafarer, a more specific description is that I am a Marine Engineer. For those who don't know, Seafarers are people who work on ships, boats and those floating things you see on the sea — read medium/large bodies of water. We make everything in your house get to you. According to date over 90% of the world's goods are transported via water. So, you see how intergral seafarers are to your existence?
This shouldn't be a long post, But would it make sense if I don't mention why I am here? So here is the big unveiling — this is where you insert drum rolls and spotlight. I am here to save the world and make it a better place. Oops! That's not a lie even though the more pressing reason is "can hive be a side hustle and a source of extra income?"
Can I write about photography, Seafaring, my journey of transitioning into tech , migration, learning new skills, write about writing while making a few coins while at it?
So this is why I hive.
Now that the first post is done and dusted. Check out some of my favorite not so favorite photos.
