Making a Paper Crane Mobile
Hello friends, today I finished making my paper crane mobile, so I thought I would share.
First, I made four origami cranes. If you don't know how to make those, I found some good instructions here.
You need square paper for origami, to start!
Then, I threaded some invisible thread through the completed paper cranes to make a loop, and tied they other end to the core from a roll of masking tape I had finished off a long time ago. The invisible thread makes it look like they are flying, but you can use any thread or even fishing line.
Then I started taking strips of colorful paper I had leftover from making cards, and wrapping it around the masking tape roll. I held it in place with white glue, and used clips to hold it down until the glue stuck.
Once that was all dry, I came back and used some ribbon I had in my scraps to make the hanger. I divided it into three sections that I tied to the ring, and then knotted the top. I had an old hook I used to make it easier to hang from the ceiling:
And there you have it! A pretty mobile, with some paper, glue, thread, and upcycled materials. I'm happy with how it turned out. :)
Thanks for reading and have a great day. :)
