What A Blessing We Received!

8 months ago, our daughter found this most unique colour of Cockscomb (Celosia argentea var. cristata) and decided to buy home to surprise us regardless of the occasion, and it is in rich beautiful yellow.

Unfortunately we forgot to take a nice picture of it and by the time we remembered, it was already started to wither.

Our daughter decided to spend time and harvest all the seeds of the blossom and set it aside until we have another nice pot, but her dad, as clueless as usual, decided to just throw it into a vacant pot.

Of course when you have a bunch of seeds on shallow soil, the baby sprout were both growing too quickly and withered as fast as well due to hot sun and shallow soil.

But the good thing is that Rene managed to save one, and nurtured that one survivor until it started to accustom to the big pot it was in.

Up and up it grew, and you can see how thick its truck is! Our daughter always kept saying, "this is such a happy flower!" and she was not far wrong from her statement!

We tried our hardest to take a better pose but with our unsteady hands, it isn't very obvious because it is out of focus; but you can see how beautiful it is forming.

Our daughter said that we should trim the big leaves so that it can have more sunshine and bloom bigger. Maybe we will ask her to do it during the weekend.

To good health always! Happy weekend HIVE readers!
