性天澄徹 卽饑喰渴飮 無非康濟身心 心地沈迷 縱談禪演偈 總是播弄精魂 (後 83)
If the nature is clear and transparent, there is nothing out of harmony with the body and soul such as eating and drink whenever hungry and thirsty. If the mind is dark or confused, no matter how high the spiritual stages or verses are uttered, everything is just scattered in vain. (Book2 83)
Little children are not calculative. Being wise and not calculative is said to be straightforward.
