Blooming Out Loud

Good day my friends here on the community.

This is the sketch I made for today’s justdraw challenge the prompt is blooming plant. I was just sitting here looking at the blank screen until these weird, stacky shapes started forming in my head. I didn't plan this at all, I just doodled what felt right in the moment. The tall stem in the middle happened first, then these puffy green segments just kind of grew out of it like a pattern which I then repeated for the rest of the plant

I wanted it to feel bright and a little bit like a strange plant you see in a dream or outer space. The lines are loose on purpose because I’m exploring this style where the thinking process really shows through. I played with those thick green strokes for the main bodies and then added those yellow "crowns" at the top to give it a bit of a sunny pop and petal looking forms.

Process was quick, messy, and fun, even though I was doubting just a bit if the yellow and green would look okay together as well as this new shape. That’s my thing: make, go with the flow, and keep what’s working and learn from mistakes. Hope this brings a little bit of color to your day
