My town / Mi pueblo

Hello everyone.

My name is Pedro Raúl. This is my first time in the Music community, and I confess to feeling a bit shy about sharing this. But it's a step I feel is necessary. For years, my music has only existed among a handful of friends and family. Perhaps also in some streets of my hometown, although it's been so long since I've been back that I doubt anyone remembers that young man who once walked them serenading.

That's why today I bring you "Mi Pueblo" (My Town). This song took years to take shape. It speaks of someone who leaves home one day and, a decade later, feels the call to return. It speaks of the barriers life throws up and of the memories that, despite everything, persist. It's a tribute to the land where I was born. A few months ago, some of those friends heard it in Havana. The silence that followed spoke louder than any words. Beyond the simple and unfinished background and the voices, lent by two young friends, songs, in the end, aren't explained. They're felt. I hope this one resonates with you.

Hola a todos.

Mi nombre es Pedro Raúl, Es mi primera vez en la comunidad Music y confieso cierta timidez al compartir esto. Pero es un paso que siento necesario. Durante años, mi música solo ha vivido entre un puñado de amigos y familia. Quizás también en algunas calles de mi pueblo natal, aunque hace tanto que no vuelvo que dudo que alguien recuerde a aquel joven que alguna vez las recorrió dando serenatas.

Por eso hoy les traigo “Mi pueblo”. Esta canción tardó años en tomar forma. Habla de quien sale de casa un día y, una década después, siente el llamado a regresar. Habla de las barreras que pone la vida y de la memoria que, pese a todo, persiste. Es un tributo a la tierra que me vio nacer. Hace unos meses, algunos de esos amigos la escucharon en La Habana. El silencio que quedó después dijo más que cualquier palabra. Más allá de lo sencillo e inacabado del background y de las voces, prestadas por dos jóvenes amigos, las canciones, al final, no se explican. Se sienten. Espero que esta pueda resonar en ustedes.
