POETRY : THE UNHOLY TRINITY

My mind
My mind seeks validation
It craves it.
It requires the accolades
The acknowledgment of its brilliance
For pushing the boundaries
For mastering the histories
It wants to be told it’s smart

My body
My body adores the heat of your skin
It longs for the attention of searching and wondering eyes
To be told it’s sexy in loose, tight, long, short clothes or no clothes at all.
It desires to be touched,
To be covered in fluids,
Runny, sticky and warm

My soul
My soul seeks ultimate retribution
It wants to find solace and peace
Desperately wants to parade the golden streets
To be one with God until it too becomes a God
Till it’s resting in peace and in power
Glorified and saintly

The mind is pompous
The body sins
The soul is weary
Yet it wants to be god and king
They stand in defiance
Of the holy of holies
A trinity most unholy
