You're alone and life goes on
I can't give any advice better than the telling someone no matter how many people are around you, you're alone and regardless of what happens to you, life goes on always. Whether or not people stay or leave doesn't make any difference. I was reminded of that once again this morning. Not that anyone left but it was so still this morning I was able to hear my neighbor's stove starting up a few rooms away. I'm not feeling too well, went to the pharmacy, had a test and they said I have a cold. I sat there on my porch while my tea became cold so now both of us are cold. When you're alone for a while it gives you the chance to think well about certain things in life.
When we are born we are alone. When we die we are alone. In between that time we collect people like firewood for a cold night. Then when the fire burns out you are left with dust and ashes and yourself. A few days ago my friend Kwesi told me that his dad said construct yourself like you're constructing a house for someone who may never pay you.
For several weeks I have been working very hard to get my brother set for hi tailoring apprenticeship, he wants to be a fashion designer. He is learning how to properly cut a piece of cloth so even if the person is slouching it will still hang properly. He really wants to be a professional and he's already a perfectionist by nature. I have also been helping my neighbor's daughter with her English homework as much as I can. A week ago she asked why I bother helping if we are all going to end up alone. I told her being alone does not mean being empty.
I sometimes lay awake wondering whether or not my close friends will still recognize me once I have changed. But whether they do or not, we end up in one place, the graveyard.
