Random storm views. Also a video in here.

The first of two new cold fronts arrived, and we decided to share some views.

We are officially in winter now, and the damages were once again breaking records.

The Cape of Storms is at the southern tip of the African continent, and as it is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, things tend to get wild over here. The water coming down from the Arctic is icy cold, and yet some of the locals still dare to go for a swim in the conditions. Many weather warnings are issued every day, even up to level 8, and it is sad to hear that so many people are severely affected by floods and storm winds.

We heard on the radio that 200 people were trapped next to a river where all of the roads and bridges were washed out in the Eastern Cape. A wonderful NPO called Gift of the Givers undertook to evacuate the people. The emergency units in the country are all on standby and many stories are emerging about their heroic acts to help the people in many places. The news is that we might even have some snow on the mountains, and my camera is rearing to go for shots if we get some snow.

Two photos below taken from our house.

And then we were out to get some random shots of the weather.

Here was a view towards the east on our mountain range.

I know that I only talk about some damages, but in this video, you will see how bad it is over here.

And then, a view of a mountain towards the northeast.

Now you will see some other random shots below.

Oh yes, things are indeed very bad here, and at this early stage of winter, there will be no let up. The power of the storms is increasing in intensity, and we will just have to develop new protective and contingency methods. Bear in mind that we are still supposed to be in autumn, but winter is in a hurry as it arrived early with devastating consequences. Another factor that plays a part, is that we are in a winter rainfall area and we are getting tons of the stuff.

We are all starting to believe that global warming exists, as it is the only reason that the weather across the world has been turned upside down. We also don't know what the future holds, but if it does continue to worsen then we will all have a major issue on our hands. Not only in our country, but worldwide. Maybe this is also one of those wake-up calls that will fall onto deaf ears, but it may only be ignored and then we will get into real trouble.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
