Papillon is the French word for "Butterfly" and we work at Transforming the lives' of the poor by developing their own hidden talents.
Although I post many articles about nature on our page, we are first and foremost a charity that works in Johannesburg, South Africa. We thought it would be a good idea to show you some of our latest statistics.
The Papillon Foundation was established in 2002 and our focus is to assist with goods donations in poor areas and to empower needy communities with accredited skills training so that they can help themselves!
422 Tons of goods such as, clothing, blankets, food, toiletries, appliances, toys, curtains, carpets, bedding etcetera were thus far freely distributed to smaller NPOs', NGOs' Community Projects, Clinics, Missions and other worthy causes.
9677 un-employed and needy community members have completed various skills training courses at the Papillon Development Center in Johannesburg. This includes; English Language Training, PC &Web Basic Training, ICDL E-Learner courses, ICDL Project Planning, Project Management, Pastel Accountancy Training, Small Business Management, Waiter Training and other courses! Papillon partners with professional institutions and universities in social empowerment projects.
Papillon also runs several other social projects such as the Computer Refurbishment Project that has thus far placed 1713 computers at smaller charities and worthy causes.
The Trauma Training for Child Handlers project was started 2 years ago and has since also been presented to child centers across Africa.
