A skink lizard, or a small snake.

I could not get a clear view of the prey in the Heron's beak, as his strike happened in seconds.

A bit of a rainy Sunday, but every now and then the sun pops out from behind the clouds.

I was caught flat footed this morning, as I was busy loading the pictures for this post, when my PC was switched off. They have increased the power cut level overnight and changed the times. So at 10am the power was shut off until 2:30pm today. Not a chance for me to log out and shut down, as everything were abruptly cut off. So we are now sitting at Level 6 and at 8pm we will be cut off again.
What a life.

This below was where I saw the heron and the yellow bishop bird.

Nope, no way to see in the bad light what he had in his beak.

He simply swallowed whatever it was.

And then the Heron was off to go and hunt somewhere else.

A clarification here below.

Some people ask me how this bird can be called a Yellow Bishop if he is black. The birds in this family species are named according to their markings and this one has all yellow markings in his wings.
We also have red and black bishops

They are all of the Weaver family and the specie name is (Euplectes).

So between the power cuts and the rain, something has to give and the motor on our driveway gate decided to resign. Now this is a long steel gate running on a geared track and when we arrived back home it refused to open.
So I had to get out of the car, lift the heavy gate off the track and manually wrestle with it to open it wide enough for our car to fit through. Oh, and after I got the car through the gate, I had to wrestle the gate closed again.
What a life again :)

And That's All Friends.
