Can he do it?

We did not plan to move 10 minutes from a major lake, but we wouldn't have it any other way. It seems that kayak jug fishing your first gar has become a right of passage for our Little-Peppers. (And honestly I know plenty of adults who would want nothing to do with an activity like this.)

We often fish at the lake, and it has provided a serious amount of food for our family over the years. It seems that most of my hobbies are food related, which gives us an amazing amount of time outside. Gardening, foraging, and hunting are all fun as well, but there is a certain mystery and thrill to fishing that entices us. You never know what you'll encounter or have the opportunity to pull from the depths, and it's so easy that even children can do it, and we show here.

In this episode, our four year old son "Doc" decided that his time had come. He was really excited about taking advantage of his first opportunity to try to get one, but that excitement quickly ran out when he pulled the toothy creature next to his kayak. Thankfully, with some encouragement from his father, he was able to fight through his fear and succeed in this quest. Enjoy the show!
