Leaving Home
The day has come, you're leaving home, My heart aches, I feel alone. The house is quiet, the air is still, As I watch you go, up over the hill.
You're taking flight, like a bird in the sky, Leaving your nest, to spread your wings and fly. I know you'll soar, to great heights unknown, But I'll miss you dearly, now that you're grown.
Memories flood back, of times long gone, Of you as a child, playing on the lawn. But now you're grown, and it's time to roam, To explore the world, and find your own home.
I'll miss your laughter, your smile, your touch, But I'll cherish the memories, that mean so much. So go with my love, and my blessing too, And know that my heart, will always be true.
May the road ahead, be filled with light, And may your path, lead you to new heights. Remember your roots, and where you came from, And know that you'll always have a place to come home.
Thank you for reading. I hope you like it.
