Hola querido hiver.

Era una tarde del mes de diciembre. Había quedado con unas amigas para visitar el mercadillo navideño y llegué con bastante tiempo de antelación para hacer un recado previo. Al terminar más pronto de lo esperado me encontré con más de una hora libre en un día con espesa niebla que enfriaba hasta los huesos.

Recordé que había cerca un centro cultural en el que casi siempre se encuentra alguna exposición interesante. Era perfecto para estar entretenida y caliente al mismo tiempo, por lo que allí me encaminé. Lo que encontré es lo que aquí te comparto.

Cuando vi los colores llamativos y las formas sencillas pero sugerentes no pude más que disponerme a disfrutar de las obras de arte.

El cartel introductorio de la exposición, titulada Ande o no ande indicaba que los artífices eran el grupo artístico Andar de Nones. Era la primera vez que sabía de ellos. Definían estas pinturas como un caos controlado que es fascinante de contemplar en formato gigante. Y, para mí, tienen razón.

Su caballo cósmico, así llaman a este simpático amigo, te invita a que aprendas más sobre estos artistas en un audiovisual del que tomé algunas fotos.

En él aparece el nombre de todos los artistas y podemos verles trabajando en sus obras. Lo que vemos en las paredes es una combinación de ideas sorprendente, ya que son obras grupales.

¿Te han gustado? Pues te cuento algo más: el proyecto Andar de Nones favorece el desarrollo artístico de personas con diversidad psíquica mediante talleres puramente creativos, alejándose de los fines terapéuticos y ocupacionales. Los artistas cuyas obras acabas de disfrutar son personas con discapacidad intelectual que dan rienda suelta a lo que les sale de dentro sin buscar más allá que su propia expresión. Eso es el arte.

Hi, dear hiver.

It was an afternoon in December. I’d arranged to meet some friends to visit the Christmas market, and I arrived well ahead of time to run an errand first. As I finished earlier than expected, I found myself with over an hour to spare on a day with thick fog that chilled me to the bone.

I remembered there was a cultural centre nearby where there’s almost always an interesting exhibition. It was perfect for keeping me entertained and warm at the same time, so off I went. What I found is what I’m sharing with you here.

When I saw the striking colours and the simple yet evocative shapes, I couldn’t help but sit back and enjoy the works of art.

The introductory poster for the exhibition, entitled Ande o no ande (tr: Whether it works or not), stated that the creators were the art group Andar de Nones. It was the first time I’d heard of them. They described these paintings as a controlled chaos that is fascinating to behold in giant format. And, as far as I’m concerned, they’re right.

His cosmic horse – that’s what they call this friendly chap – invites you to learn more about these artists in an audiovisual presentation, of which I took a few photos.

It features the names of all the artists and shows them working on their pieces. What we see on the walls is a surprising combination of ideas, as these are collaborative works.

Did you like them? Well, let me tell you a bit more: the Andar de Nones project promotes the artistic development of people with intellectual disabilities through purely creative workshops, moving away from therapeutic and occupational aims. The artists whose works you have just enjoyed are people with intellectual disabilities who give free rein to whatever comes from within, seeking nothing more than their own expression. That is art.
