On SuperRare

My latest tokenized artwork Waiting Inside is now on SuperRare. The digital artwork is an animated gif, created using digital adaptations of my own original ink drawings and photographs.

Creating the artwork

You can see in the image above a section from the artwork that includes my own photographs. Can you spot the bird perched in the branches? I create these photomontages from my own pictures of trees, often taken over the winter months when the bare branches are showing. This autumnal morning I have been out taking photographs, capturing the trees already shedding their remaining leaves.

I began this piece at the start of the year, before the UK had gone into lockdown. The figure sits inside, cocooned from the world outside that continues unaware of the figure's self confinement. It's interesting how over the course of this year I have found my self identifying more and more with the figure in this drawing.
