Book Signing (19/10/22) - Our Daily Bread - From Argos (TM) to the Altar - A Priest's Story
Yesterday we attended a book signing, consisting of a short round of questions and answers with the author Father Alex Frost.
Father Alex transformed a local church from a traditional congregation to incorporate a food bank and free Saturday Morning Cafe within St Mathews Church, Burnley.
The question and answer session revealed an initially reluctant convert with comedic potential, and a natural inclination to help others.
However, the book isn't just about Father Alex, it also reveals the real life challenges faced by some of the local residents of Burnley, England.
We are now the proud owners of a signed copy with a personalised note for my Wife, who has already devoured a few chapters.
The church itself, is an architectural beauty:
The book is published by HarperNorth (c) if you fancy a read.
I believe the hardback was £12.50 on the night with £2 going to church funds to help continue the great work Father Alex has championed in an economically deprived area, full of people with untapped potential.
All photos were taken by myself on the night.
