My Cry

My people had on that day -- 3rd June, 2025 to perform the funeral rites of the village head who passed on in May, 2025.
My father, Uncles, Children and relatives of the deceased travelled from Abuja and other places all the way to pay their last respects and to mourn the traditional custodian who was a Civil War & Nigerian Army veteran.

Just moments after the dead have been laid to rest, not fewer than three persons were confirmed k!lled by suspected herdsmən. They were mercilessly butchered!
One of the victims is specifically identified as the Head the teacher of the Local Primary school in my village.

The villagers, my father, uncles and other relatives that embarked on this journey were immediately thrown into panic.
The people from the City returned safely the next day. However, there are a handful back in the village hoping that these beasts of no conscience never find them.

I hope you recall my cry sometime around this time last year when my village was attacked with no fewer than 13 persons k!lled, numerous injured, houses and properties destroyed. My maternal home particularly burnt to ashes.

It is with a heavy heart that I write again about the sad ordeals faced by my people in AJOMACHI -- a village between Agatu LGA of Benue State and Omala LGA of Kogi State.

I hope that one day I say I want to travel without fear for my life.
