The winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, came and went under a thick blanket of gray drizzle. Honestly, it barely mattered, it was the kind of day that dissolved into itself, indistinguishable from the last. I’d caught a light cold in the past few days, so I kept things simple. A short morning walk to stretch my legs, then straight back home to rest and recover. Tea with honey became my constant companion, soothing my scratchy throat, while a steaming bath wrapped me in warmth like a second skin. The hours slipped by in a blur of naps and aimless TV, the kind of indulgent escape you only allow yourself when you’re under the weather. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was exactly what I needed, slow, soft, and simple. Here‘s a nice poppy macro shot from another more brighter day for you to enjoy
