Freewrite writing prompt Day 2844 : suffering

The village has been suffering from water issues.
They don't have any borehole,so they drank from the polluted river.
The common diseases that invaded the village are, diarrhea, cholera, typhoid, hepatitis A, and polio.
They didn't even have a health center, so they were never diagnosed nor received any proper medical treatment.
But they have commission for health from their village.
He left the village to live in the town, allowing them to suffer while he squanders the funds allocated for such developments.

He could only come to the village once in a while to make mockery of them with empty promises and sympathy.
The villagers treats him like god without knowing what he did to them.

His sudden death opened their eyes to improvement and positive change.
The new commissioner brought development and change to the village.
All the villagers could do was to curse the former commissioner's grave.

Their eyes were opened to great things, that they sworn to protect by not allowing themselves to be used by any other greedy politician.
Who could deceive them and make them vote for him.
