Our brief vacation in the hills was a few weeks ago. At that time, we tried to spend the unbearable heat outside. After walking for several minutes, we had yet to arrive at this cool oasis—a tiny creek running through the mountains near the place we were staying. We came to a halt at a section that was shallow enough to allow for foot crossing. To avoid walking too far in the heat, we made a hasty retreat there and decided that this was our final destination for the time being. She'd already gotten her feet chilly while I was looking over and taking pictures of the insects.
