A Poem: Early Gift

Hello guys and welcome to my entry for the thursday prompt. I'm really loving the 5mins challenge has it helps my spontaneous creativity.

Sorry I came late to the party but here goes;

Fickle sickle tried to pry
the fruit from a tree so shy
it only blooms in summer.
Can't exactly place where this
memory crawled out from
but I'm glad mind is occupied.

Occupied by a lie that lives
have fed from my harvest
and men have eaten from my table.

It's a zombie land here, with
children limping around with
their ribs calling out for help.

Realized I never fed them,
they only had left overs
that muted my inhibitions
of bragging that I've fed many.

This clarion call is my early gift.
