On the 20th is Youth Rights Day
Do you know anything about it? No? I don’t know much either, but I want to learn more about democratic schools and community learning hubs. Would you be interested in pursuing that with me a little?
The first thing that puzzles me is why is it only once a year? Oh, I see, it started in 2021 with a letter. Wow, there is a lot of info at https://youthrightsday.org
How important is this topic when it is only on the calendar once a year? We as a family are affected EVERY DAY. Neither, in our experience, does it have much to do with age, because then adults could decide much more for themselves than they think they can.
Therefore, our first suggestion with signing this pledge is not to have a Youth Rights Day on November 20, but on EVERY 20th of a month. That is the least, isn't it!
This is an introduction post because it is the first one. Whether there will be further postings remains open. That depends on how this appeal is answered. And that can happen elsewhere thanks to the pledge and the networks of lovely people behind it.
