Summer Projects at the Cabin : Board and Batten siding
We are thinking of redoing the siding at the camp this summer.
We have a few buildings that need to be freshened up.
I know lumber prices are high but they are starting to drop now that everything is opening up and life is returning to normal… all supplies will be paid with crypto.
One idea is to just add 1 x 2 over the existing 4 x 8 sheets of plywood to mimic board and batten.
This is the classic Board and batten siding with charcoal grey stain ….
This is the existing red stained plywood on the camp where 1 x 2 are already used at the 4’ seams … we would just add additional 1x2s between and paint everything charcoal grey, sage green or some other colour …
What do you think ?
It’s either that or buy new horizontal cedar boards to look more like a classic Timber Log cabin. That will be a lot more expensive though.
