Trust
Building trust is relevant. To an extent you know exactly what he or she can do and whatnot.
Trust can never be perfect, because they are limits, failures, or human weakness that will definitely comes along the way.
Parents to children trust can be betrayed sometimes: my child can't do drugs and they will be disappointed that the kids does drugs.
Partners trust can also be betrayed: my partner can't cheat on me. We have come a long way. Then you get disappointed when they cheat on you.
Friends trust can be betrayed: my friend can't betray me we have been together in good and bad times. Then you will be dumfounded when he or she doesn't call you or respond to your messages anymore.
Times truly exposes everyone's true nature, so trusting someone to easily leads to disappointment

Only God must be fully trusted. To a very large extent you should let go when someone betrays our trust. Knowing the reasons why they do what they do helps us heal faster. They might not do it to hurt you they might do it because among all odds they made themselves more priority over you.
Trust is limited, but great men and women still keep to their promise of trust
