“What It’s Like to Be a Village Vet (And Why I Love It)”
Life as a village veterinarian in Kazakhstan is never boring.
One morning I’m treating a calf with diarrhea, by noon I’m helping a dog that was kicked by a horse, and by evening I’m assisting a sheep in labor.
There are no weekends here — animals don’t wait. A cow doesn’t ask if it’s Sunday.
But every animal, every farmer, and every problem teaches me something new.
🔹 Some days are hard.
🔹 Some cases are emotional.
🔹 Some moments are hilarious.
Like when a grandma offered me tea while I had one arm inside a cow! ☕🐄
I love this job not because it’s easy — but because it’s real. It’s about connection: to people, to animals, to nature.
Being a vet in the village means you are doctor, psychologist, farmer, and sometimes even a miracle worker — all in one.
