My Worst Fears
Sources claim that Fallout 76 will be an "Online Survival RPG". According to kotaku.com, there are 3 sources speaking anonymously confirming that Fallout 76 is indeed an experimental new entry to the Fallout franchise. The problem with this is not the fact that it is online, or multiplayer, the problem comes that Fallout's fanbase is primarily singleplayer oriented and not many games fare well when making such a transition. Depending on if there will still be a singleplayer aspect to this I simply cannot see this succeeding, but that's just my opinion
Benefit of the Doubt
Personally, I am a huge fan of the Fallout series, so at heart I want Bethesda to succeed with this one, but not at the cost of a singleplayer experience and especially not if lootboxes are implemented in a pay-to-win manner. I don't know if this will become a competitive type of game, but if so, I see a bad future for Fallout 76 and the Fallout name.
