Hiroshima-Nagasaki, August 1945: Decades Hidden Footage from the Aftermath of the Bombings
A shocking documentary featuring the first ever film footage following the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. Akira Iwasaki, a left-wing Japanese film producer documented the remains and the horror after the bombings but his footage was confiscated by the authorities and remained hidden until 1970.
Eric Barnouw obtained the footage from the National Archive and edited and narrated the film.
