What happened today - Midnight Contest #27

As I sit here writing this past midnight, I can honestly say that today turned out much better than I expected.

The day itself was fairly normal. I went about my usual activities, handled what needed to be done and looked forward to getting some rest. Earlier in the day, I had been invited to a dinner but as the evening approached, I found myself seriously considering not going, in short the thought of staying indoors sounded much more appealing. I was already comfortable and sometimes the effort of getting ready and everything that comes with it, thinking of what to wear and all, just seemed tiring to me. For a while, I went back and forth in my head, weighing the options. I wanted to cancel and spend the night relaxing at home. Then my cousin called me and asked if i was going and i said No, long story short, she convinced me to come.

The dinner was surprisingly enjoyable, its one of those experiences that you do not want to come or go out and it ends up being enjoyable. The atmosphere was welcoming, the conversations flowed naturally and it was refreshing to spend time with people outside of my usual routine. There was plenty of laughter, good food and those simple moments that help you understand ehy social gatherings can be worthwhile and are encouraged. What started as something I almost skipped became one of the highlights of my day.

Sometimes the best experiences come from the plans we are tempted to cancel. Lol!, had I stayed home, I would have missed out on a genuinely pleasant evening and the chance to create new memories and i also got this beautiful girls number, so it was a plus for me. Tonight reminded to always remember to step out of my comfort zone. Now that the night is coming to an end, I feel content. It was definitely a good day and as I prepare to sleep, I am grateful for how the day unfolded.
