I met her in the first year of college. She was a kind and sweet girl and treated everyone with kindness. At first, we didn’t talk much, and I had no other friends except her.

Gradually, we started to build our friendship.We completed two years of education in the same college. We used to sit together every day. But after completing college, she decided to go to Punjab University, and I decided to go to Concordia College because Punjab University was far, and my parents wouldn’t allow me to go there.

At first, we talked about getting into the same university. Later, we respected each other’s boundaries and decided to stay in contact no matter what.

As time passed, she got busy with her studies, and so did I. We rarely talked on the phone — sometimes after two or three weeks, sometimes even longer.

As we became more distant, whenever we texted, we didn’t have much to say except greetings and asking about each other’s situation.

We started to feel distant. We had a few small misunderstandings too, but she was always a positive and thoughtful person, and we solved them every time.

Whenever we missed each other, we texted. Seeing each other’s pictures reminded us of old memories.

Although we didn’t talk daily, the bond and the relationship in our hearts remained unbreakable. We are far apart from each other, but we never forgot the attachment we share in our hearts.
