Shame on the L.A Times!
https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2022-05-25/beto-orourke-interrupts-texas-governor
In an L.A. Times “news” article published yesterday, the reporter wrote that Governor Abbott, in a press conference, “described how the 18-year-old shooter armed himself with an AR-15-style rifle, but said the problem wasn’t the state’s lax gun laws.”
NO. THAT’S FALSE REPORTING! Abbott never said, nor would he have said, that the state of Texas has “lax gun laws.” That’s a characterization typical of liberal Democrats, like Beto O’Rourke, who wish to further restrict public access to guns.
Whether gun laws are “lax” or not is not the issue I’m raising here. Rather, I’m pointing out misleading reporting that surreptitiously slips the political bias of the reporter (and possibly of the newspaper’s editors) into what is otherwise a genuine news story.
