Rioter with horns gets 41 months..

Hmmmm. I'm torn about this. Yes, he was clearly guilty of invading the premises and wielding a flag pole as a spear.

But the judge said "You made yourself the center of the riot," which strikes me as a "What was he wearing" kind of thing. Yeah, he 100% dressed ostentatiously and obnoxiously. But that isn't a crime, and he had zero control over how the media used his image afterward.

I don't agree with giving people a harsher sentence than normal to "set an example." Punish them for the crime they committed, not crimes others might be inclined to commit.

If the dude who put his feet up on Pelosi's desk gets a lighter punishment, I'd call foul on this one.

Apparently that is what happened:

"Chansley and Scott Fairlamb, a New Jersey gym owner sentenced last week for punching a police officer during the attack, have received the longest prison sentences out of the 38 Capitol riot defendants who been punished so far."

Punching a cop = carrying a flagpole, yelling, and wearing a stupid horned hat and face paint. Again: hmmmm......
