Well unless we pick the correct evil group/ethnicity, the scourge of being, then it's our moral duty to do. So goes the "logic" of such people. There is very little effort to hide the hypocrisy anymore. It's quite plain they do not actually hold the values they profess to and merely hide behind.

"The biggest terror threat in this country is white men...to the right, and we have to start doing something about them."

The seething resentment and desire for power, vengeance and retribution against anyone or any group that can be plausibly blamed for life not seeming fair and not turning out as hoped is very thinly veiled now. Atrocities are always morally justified by first declaring oneself a victim of an other, a persecutor group. At that point, those people simply get what they deserve.
