#DAY1 100 DAYS OF CODE

In 2020 I started a challenge on Twitter–#100DaysofCode. The idea was to code every day for 100 days. I had a certain objective, the first was to finish my FreeCodeCamp course, but that never happened. I got stuck in JavaScript and got distracted. I have been wanting to complete the course but never got at it. However, I got this epiphany that has spurred me into giving this another shot.

WHAT DO I WANT TO ACHIEVE IN THE NEXT 100 DAYS?

First, I would like to finish all the courses within the curriculum, which should take about 3900 hours (162.5 Days). This is a lofty feat but I will attempt it. However, if I'm unable to achieve this in 100 days, I will settle for four of the courses in the curriculum namely:

  • Responsive Web Design
  • JavaSCript Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Front End Development Libraries
  • Data Visualization
  • Back End Development and APIs

I have pretty much gone through The first two, but I will go over them again to refresh my memory. I also have some idea of some of the front end libraries that will be taught in this course. So I am expecting to go through this in a week or so–if I don't get distracted.

Also, I will endeavour to work on one project every week, so I can have a nice portfolio by the end of this challenge. By the way, blezyn@blezyn is an accountability manager. I have to report to her every day and she also has the responsibility of making sure I code every day, no matter what.

Lastly, I will be documenting my process on the hive blockchain. I know this challenge is popular on Twitter but I would like to bring it over here and I invite other participants to document their process here. Asides from being able to earn some crypto documenting your coding journey, you can get help from the community, many of whom are professional developers. You can reach out to me on Twitter if you need help setting up a hive account.

TODAY’S TASK

Today I started with the Responsive Web Design course. I ran through the basic HTML and HTML5 sections in about two hours. This was quite easy because I use markup language every day for my blogs, so I am familiar with most of the tags and what they do–perks of being a content creator on hive.

Later this evening I should go through the CSS section and try to complete that as well. I would have done that earlier but I had to visit the mechanic for some fixes on my car. I have my hive daily task to complete, which after completing I will revisit my course.

That will be all for today’s update. I will see you tomorrow. Cheers!
