VIBES WEEK 40//HALO BY BEYONCÉ
So for this week, I decided to go with Halo by Beyoncé. Honestly, this song has always had a soft spot in my heart. It’s one of those songs that immediately shifts your mood when you hear it. For me, it’s not just about romance, it’s about the people, moments, and even little blessings in life that feel like light breaking through when everything else feels heavy.
I think we all go through times where we put up walls, whether it’s because of stress, pain, or just feeling like we have to protect ourselves. And sometimes those walls get so high that even we forget what it feels like to let someone in. But then, every now and then, life surprises us. It could be a person who makes us feel safe, or a moment that reminds us we’re loved, or even a simple reminder that we’re not alone. That’s what this song feels like, it’s about that breakthrough, that reminder of hope.
For me, Halo is uplifting in the simplest way. It’s not about perfection or pretending everything is fine, but about appreciating the light when it finally shines through the cracks. And I think everyone can relate to that feeling, whether it’s through love, friendship, faith, or just the quiet moments that make life a little brighter.
That’s why I chose this song for my entry this week. It’s a reminder of gratitude, of love, of peace, and of letting those walls come down. And I hope as you listen, you feel some of that same light too.
Lyrics:
"Halo"
("I Am... Sasha Fierce" album version)
Remember those walls I built?
Well, baby, they're tumblin' down
And they didn't even put up a fight
They didn't even make a sound
I found a way to let you in
But I never really had a doubt
Standin' in the light of your halo
I got my angel now
It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
It's the risk that I'm takin'
I ain't never gonna shut you out
Everywhere I'm lookin' now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby, I can see your halo
You know you're my savin' grace
You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby, I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo, halo
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo
Halo
Hit me like a ray of sun
Burnin' through my darkest night
You're the only one that I want
Think I'm addicted to your light
I swore I'd never fall again
But this don't even feel like fallin'
Gravity can't begin
To pull me back to the ground again
It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
The risk that I'm takin'
I'm never gonna shut you out
Everywhere I'm lookin' now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby, I can see your halo
You know you're my savin' grace
You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby, I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo, halo
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo, halo
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo
Halo
Halo
Ooh
