The 2 Million Dollar Pizza
So for those who don't already know, the first ever transaction on bitcoin was created on May 2017. A bitcoin talk user Lazlo Hanyecz traded 10,000 bitcoin for 2 pizzas. May 18 is every year celebrated as "Bitcoin Pizza Day".
Interestingly, a forum user ribuck speculated that this might become the world's first million dollar pizza. He was right.
During that time those 10,000 bitcoins were worth around $41 so it made sense. But bitcoin price has exploded since then. Let's see how much it would be in different years -
May, 2010 - $41
August, 2010 - $600
November, 2010 - $2,200
May, 2011 - $34,700
May 2012 - $49,200
May 2013 - $1,13,720
May 2014 - $4,38,070
May 2015 - $2,38,090
May 2016 - $4,55,530
May 2017 - $2,413,630
Right now that same pizza is more than $2 million worth. Imagine being the seller of that Pizza!
