SteemMoon entry - inspired by CoinGecko.

I wanted to populate the SteemMoon project with a few more pieces before I started announcing it to Utopian and running contests around it... and so decided to put some little CoinGeckos on it.

It looks more amateurish than I'd like, but I should probably cut myself some slack... it takes time to get good at the things. It really does give me way more respect to those artists that are really good at pixel art...

How many hours did @drawsgood take to get so good?

It's not a bad first attempt, I'm still learning a lot about Pixel Art and I think the secret is to just keep doing it while adding to your skill set each time. I tried to work on the shading of the actual ship, and it's okay, but it doesn't really have that rounded shape that I was going for.

The biggest disappointment for me in this piece is that I've actually done the viewpoint wrong. The ship and the two geckos look more side on... where the viewpoint should actually be looking diagonally down.

Once you compare it to the Steem Moon sign that I did it becomes a lot more obvious:

I think I basically need to show more of the other side of the ship, to try and tilt the visible side down. I'm honestly not super how to do that. The CoinGeckos themselves I think need their heads tilted down and maybe more of their other arm showing. This is still all super new to me.

I also need to work on the interaction with the ground a lot more... I think maybe the secret is to remove the black outlines where anything meets the ground...

I had intended this post to be more of a kind of tutorial, but since I don't quite have it right... and I might need to scrap it and start over, I'll leave it as more of a work in progress.
