The Box in the Attic.. Exploring an Abandoned House..

So let's head over to Belgium.. tucked away in the woods and forgotten lies this beautiful little house.. The structure of the place was relatively sound, and this one was literally as if they just got up and walked out.. Inside a puzzle of a life for me to put together.. The most gorgeous furniture ide seen, along with some really strange oddities ide not seen before..

The most amazing spinning wheel spinning its own nature stood in the one room.. along with the little spindles..

A scrap book so carefully put together with precious momentos tucked amongst the pages of a families travels..

Portraits of faces left on the side boards and walls.. watchers of the house..

So many black and white photos tucked in draws and albums..

A freeky puppet doll lay on the sofa.. amongst other very different ornaments.. and little wax figures..

Hung on the wall was a really unusual framed photo of two little girls.. in the photo was real hair stuck to the faces.. this was done in the victorian era.. sometimes when a person died, a braid of hair was placed in a photo with them.. as an everlasting memory..

This house was a real mix of old and new.. one room was papered top to bottom with sheet music..

Before I leave a place I always love to have a quick peep in the attic.. After getting a chuv up into it, the one end had a single box sat there.. wrapped in newspapers where three faces made of wax.. it creeped me out for a second as they looked sooooooo real!!!

The detail was incredible, I could even see the eye lashes.. These are called death Masks.. wax was used to make a mask of the deceased face, again, an eternal memory.. this is still practiced today in some cultures.. time for me to go. I learnt so much from this house, yet very little about the family.. thankyou for reading ☺️
