A new chapter begins
It's funny how life can change in such a short period of time...
Just a little over a year ago I wasn't even in a relationship and now I am married! To be honest, it was a long time coming for me and my (now) husband to be together but I guess it happened when the timing was right for us. Everyone's story is different and unique, including ours. We got married on September 20th, on our first year anniversary.
Our wedding ceremony was very small and intimate. We both never dreamed of a big wedding celebration and I am glad we agreed on the way we want to mark our special day. Being surrounded by the closest family, best man and maid of honor was all that really mattered. Of course, no matter how small the ceremony is, there is still a lot of things to organize and plan. I cannot imagine doing this on a big scale!
Once we had the date set, we went to a restaurant to book a separate section where we would be alone for dinner. We agreed on the food and they also had simple decoration so I didn't have to worry about any of that. My wish was to have a photographer who's going to take some nice photos of us alone and with everyone else - I am so happy how it turned out and to have these memories in the years to come when I want to look back on this day. I ordered some cute gifts for guests and we also had a wedding cake from our favorite cafe/pastry shop.
When it comes to my looks, I did keep it quite simple but even that required a lot of back and forth between salons and try-ons. I wanted a simple, long, minimal dress and I was so happy when I found this one as it represented all my wishes when it comes to my outfit. Few days before wedding I went and got lash lift and my nails done and even before that I had a bridal makeup and hair trial. That was my first time even to get makeup done professionally and I don't really do my hair at a salon either so trials were my "piece of mind" just to make sure I'll look the way I wanted to on my special day. Bouquet of flowers I got from our local flower shop turned out even better than I expected and it was a nice prompt for photos as well.
Overall, we had a great time and I am so grateful we had an opportunity to share this life milestone with our closest people. And now I am bringing the news to this platform where I shared a lot of my life over the past eight years(?! can't believe it's been that long).
Cheers to the new chapter!
