Armistice Day
Don’t celebrate today by thanking veterans for their service, for I see it as an empty gesture due to 3 reasons: first, we are not ending wars; second, we create more veterans by fighting new wars; and third, most veterans I believe tend to utter the simple phrase “Never Again” as a solemn promise to never forget the horrors of war and strive to stay out of war (which is the sole reason for celebrating Armistice Day). Instead, pray and work for a more peaceful future where the very veterans that we send off to war do not die in senseless war.
