Tutorial: Dibujemos una hormiguita 🐜

This will be a small tutorial to complement my posts, where I’ve been sharing little tutorials with sketch sheets and step-by-step guides for different drawings of all levels, from simpler ones for children to more complex ones. Today we’ll be drawing a little red ant, and we’ll try to make it as cute as possible. This post will also be part of the challenge we’re doing this month of drawing 28 bugs. We’re doing really well with the challenge, and I’m having a lot of fun. As usual, I’ll start by sharing the sketch sheet with the step-by-step process.

Este será un pequeño tutorial que complementará mis publicaciones, donde estoy compartiendo pequeños tutoriales con las hojas de boceto y paso a paso de distintos dibujos de todos los niveles, desde dibujos más simples para niños hasta otros más complejos. Hoy estaremos dibujando una pequeña hormiguita roja, trataremos de hacerla lo más bonita posible. También esta publicación será una participación para el reto que estamos haciendo este mes de dibujar 28 bichos. Vamos muy, muy bien en el reto y me estoy divirtiendo mucho. Comienzo compartiéndoles, como es costumbre, la hoja de boceto con el paso a paso.

Step by Step / Paso a Paso 🐜

1. We draw a horizontal oval, this will be our head.

1. Dibujamos un óvalo acostado, esa será nuestra cabeza.

1. A small semicircle at the bottom, joined to the oval, will be the waist of our little ant.

1. Un pequeño semicírculo en la parte inferior, unido al óvalo, será la cintura de nuestra hormiguita.

1. And another much larger and rounder shape will be the lower part of its body.

1. Y otro mucho más grande y redondo será la parte inferior de su cuerpo.

1. We’ll draw some details like the antennae and the lines that will form the texture of its exoskeleton.

1. Dibujaremos algunos detalles como las antenas y las líneas que formarán la textura de su exoesqueleto.

1. Six little legs, three on each side, you can choose their shape and gestures. I’ll make mine with the legs raised.

1. Seis patitas, tres a cada lado; puedes escoger su forma y sus gestos. Yo la haré con las patitas arriba.

1. And finally, its smiling little face.

1. Y por último, su carita sonriente.

Now we have our sketch ready, I hope you like it!

Now it’s time for solid lines to create the line art.

Ahora es turno de las líneas sólidas para crear el line art.

We color our ant, just as we’ve been doing and as I showed in the first drawings, and now we have a new finished piece. I really liked how this little ant turned out. Remember that you can follow this tutorial both digitally and traditionally. Thank you for joining me for another day of drawing.
