To kill a monkey

To kill a monkey is a Nigerian movie, this is the writers (Kemi Adetiba) boldest narrative shift, portraying Nigeria's underworld of cybercrime that trades political greediness. The writer here resists spectacle, opting instead for a leaner, more psychological portrait of ambition, masculinity, poverty and many more moral lessons.

The series follows Efemini, a struggling family man caught in the economic hardship of survival in lagos, Nigeria.

On meeting a dangerous childhood friend Oboz, who promise him of changing his life for the better.

This movie centers more than just a depiction of the moral and financial rot in the society, rather it is a movie that holds up a reflecting and assessing mirror to explore beauty and ugliness of nuances in society and how they improve, affect, change and deteriorate the human conditions.

It glorifys an unknown sourceless wealth, love and revolting stench of treachery. it can even mive someone to ask questions like: what is family? What is wealth, loyalty? How far can someone go in living up to such responsibility? Who's a wife/husband?

Efemini's character portrays how a man's life is judged by what he is and not who he is and how sacrifice or pain is overlooked and how people, both your own family may not really relate with your struggles and worst fears.

I was caught up in tears as the movie ends, sorrowfully, it was indeed a wonderful movie that has vital moral lessons in life...full of regrets and had i know, wishing to turn back time ⌚.

I wish y'all can watch this interesting movie 🍿
