The path of teaching is full of ups and downs, yet the satisfaction of a duty fulfilled has no material value, only emotional gains.

This time I embarked on a new experience in my work as a university professor. I was assigned to participate in the vocational fair at one of the largest schools in our municipality. For them, it wasn't anything new, but for me it was.

The thing is, the high school has been organizing this type of activity for students for the past five years, mostly for the 11th graders, who will be visiting universities in both the municipality of Cabimas and the state of Zulia.

This school has about 12 11th-grade sections, so they were divided into groups to enjoy the booths with the various offerings.

In our case, three people from the university attended: a colleague who is part of the seminars or internships department and has experience with these events, a student who hasn't been at the university long, and myself, representing the guidance department.

For me, it was a super interesting experience that really nourishes my heart ❤️ in my teaching career. It was quite easy to fulfill my role at the university booth because I'm familiar with the academic offerings, especially those of the program, and that was the idea.

There were both public and private universities present, as well as technological institutes and prestigious universities. It was truly an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about their future academic options.

Anyway, the objective was met. I'm sure I'll see more than one of those faces at our university, and I'll be very happy to guide them through their first semester.

El camino de la docencia está lleno de altas y bajas, aún así la satisfacción del deber cumplido no tiene un valor material, solo ganancias emocionales.

Ésta vez fui rumbo a una nueva experiencia en mi trabajo como docente universitaria, ahora me han comisionado a participar en la expoferia vocacional de uno de los colegios más grandes de nuestro municipio, para ellos no era algo novedoso, para mí sí.

La cuestión es que el liceo organiza desde hace 5 años éste tipo de actividad para los estudiantes, más que todo de 5 to año de bachillerato, quienes cambiarán de paisaje por las universidades tanto del municipio Cabimas como del estado Zulia.

Éste colegio tiene unas 12 secciones de 5to año, así que fueron divididos por grupos para poder disfrutar de los stand con las ofertas académicas que ofrecian las universidades invitadas.

En el caso nuestro asistimos tres personas de la universidad, una compañera que forma parte del departamento de seminarios o pasantías, que además tiene experiencia en estos eventos, una chica que no tiene mucho tiempo en la universidad, en mi caso iba como docente representando el área de orientación.

Para mí fue una experiencia súper interesante, que alimenta mucho más mi corazón ❤️ en mi camino docente, fue bastante sencillo cumplir con mi trabajo en el estand de la universidad porque conozco las ofertas académicas más que todo del programa, y esa era la idea.

Habían presentes universidades tanto públicas como privadas, también tecnológicos, universidades de prestigio, la verdad es que fue una excelente oportunidad para que los estudiantes se orienten mucho más sobre sus opciones académicas futuras.

Si considero que necesitamos mucho más material para promocionar la universidad, también modernizar los folletos, algunas universidades colocaban a los estudiantes stickers en sus chemise algo que me gustó mucho, y no teníamos, eso a los chicos les encantó.

Igual el objetivo se cumplió, estoy segura que veré más de una de esas caritas en nuestra universidad y me alegrara mucho orientarlos en su 1er semestre de carrera.
