Speculators makes the volatility in stock prices.
When there is good news release, speculators buy that specific stock knowing that the stock will be on-demand and then they will sell the stock higher than the market price to real investor or fomo traders.
This is the theory behind pump and dump scheme.
Buy the rumours and sell the news.
