Monomad: Thyreus

This plump, monochromatic black-and-white bee is a Thyreus, also known as the fern bee. Its unusual breeding habits have earned it the nickname "homeless." This is because the female bee often lays her eggs in other bees' nests. It is Thyreus's nature to move from place to place, not settling in one place at a time. In fact, the fern bee is a nestless insect. When it lays its eggs, it unhesitatingly entrusts them to other bees.

The Thyreus is unique in that it is not a type of bee that forms a special shield for its eggs. Furthermore, the Thyreus is a very sociable bee, does not sting, and is generally harmless to humans.
