Monomad: The Ghost Crab

The Ghost Crab is a coastal crab that lives in burrows dug into the beach. Ghost Crabs are known for their speed, often sprinting to escape predators. They feed primarily on marine debris. They also enjoy scavenging for plankton along the shore and in wet sand. They often eat leftover food, such as dead animals or fish.

Ghost Crabs also hunt at night. Their keen eyesight is a key factor in their hunting. Their hunting method is similar to that of all predators: they sneak up on their prey, then ambush them with their small, sharp claws. The prey is rendered helpless. With this reaction, the Ghost Crab devours its meal.
