My response to the @Indiaunited Contest Theme- : "💞 If You Had a Choice, Would You Stay Single or Be in a Relationship? 💞"

When I was newly married, I had these mixed feelings about relationships and it continued for a long time. I always felt that marriage was not for me and I would have been better single. Then my Son was born and I had the best feelings and it all started bringing meaning into my life. But still that doubt kept going on in my mind. Couple of times I discussed it with my husband also that I feel that I would rather be happy single, he would feel bad about my thoughts but still support me, giving me time and space to grow up in our relationship.

My problem in life was, I had never lived in a family unit. I was away from home, and I did not know how to live together with other people under the same roof in relationships. I got married at an early age so it all the more became difficult. It was a love marriage , but courtship and living together are 2 different things. All my choices were about myself.

As years passed, I matured not only in age but in my relationships also. Today my answer to this question is I would want to be in a Relationship. Single is good, you have your own ways, live on your own terms, but relationship teaches you lot of things. Also having a companion in life is a beautiful thing, especially if you hit the right person. No relation is perfect and 100% the way we desire but that's what it is all about, nurturing each other, accepting each other's flaws and weaknesses and supporting them. If my hubby would have given up on me then I do not know what my life would have been.

When children grow up, they get on to their own path, our parents are not there with us forever, our siblings build their own lives. The only person who will be constantly with us is our companion. Loneliness kills, having someone in life who will be there for us at any time we want feels peaceful. I cannot imagine now living a lonely life without a companion in my life.
