Magic spam is common in Splinterlands, and for the current Chaos Legion patch, Obsidian is the go to summoner for it. However, with the ranged buff from General Sloan, ranged spam outputs higher DPS. The notable damage will come from Pelacor Arbalest which can deal up to 6 damage a turn.

Ruleset: Taking Sides

Of course your opponents won't be using starter decks and level 1 monsters. But you could rent some cheap yet good cards from PeakMonsters. PeakMonsters allows easier viewing of card rentals and has user-friendly interfaces.

The cards I used in battles can be rented for less than 1 DEC (Splinterlands currency) which is USD 0.0036. All prices are taken at the moment as of this post.

With ~2 DEC rentals, you can survive the powerful purchased and leveled opponents in Gold 2.
Even with the opponent using Queen Mycelia which gives 2 armor to her comrades, the onslaught from the higher ranged damaged can break through them!
