My biography

My name is Mustapha Benghernaout, I was born and still residing in the picturesque coastal city of Mostaganem- Algeria.I Graduated in bioligical engineering and appreciate arts ,enjoy drawing and making short films in my free time.I start filmmaking in 2015 without ever attended a film school. I made my first short film "Why?" which won Africa inspired in 5 at the Global compost film contest 2015 and selected in diffrent festivals around the world such Silicon valley African film festival 2015.

, After, I directed my second short film "Unsafe Water" about the happenings in "In Salah", Algeria, where inhabitants fight against fracking. This last one participated in many Fetsivals around the world and won impressives awards.

After that I didn’t stop what I love’s to do which is the filmmaking so ,I directed my short film « Today,tomorrow » an animated stop motion film winner of the audience award at Greengo film festival 2016. After that I made a 1 minute mobile short film called « My liberty ». My liberty won the second prize at « Just a minute film festival » and was selected in many festivals such International Mobile Film Festival San Diego 2017 and Al-Nahj International Film Festival 2017.
