​Aprovechando que mi esposa ya salió de vacaciones, fuimos de recorrido a punta la Galiota en Playa Siboney. Santiago de Cuba. Una playa emblemática de nuestra Provincia.

​Lástima que solo pueda subir poquitas imágenes. Un lugar interesante. Fuimos con unas amistades a la Playita La Sigua. Al final no pudimos descender porque el huracán del que hablé en un post pasado destruyó el camino.

​La primera imagen, es una vista desde lo lejos de la playa, ahí se ve todo el pueblo de Siboney insertado en la montaña. En lo alto de la misma, hay un pequeño poblado (no visible en la imagen), llamado el Palenque. Conocido así porque era donde huían los esclavos en la época de la colonia española. Aún quedan unas 2 viviendas originales aquí en Siboney de esa época.

​La imagen donde estamos, aunque se ve casi al nivel del mar, realmente hay una diferencia de unos 15 metros. Hoy es un pesquero, muy concurrido en este tiempo para la corrida de la cojinúa.

​Taking advantage of the fact that my wife is already on vacation, we went on a tour to Punta la Galiota in Playa Siboney. Santiago de Cuba. An emblematic beach of our Province

​Too bad I can only upload a few images. An interesting place. We went with some friends to Playita La Sigua. In the end we couldn't go down because the hurricane I talked about in a past post destroyed the road.

​The first image is a view from afar of the beach, there you can see the whole town of Siboney embedded in the mountain. At the top of it, there is a small village (not visible in the image), called el Palenque. Known that way because it was where slaves fled during the time of the Spanish colony. There are still about 2 original houses from that era here in Siboney.

​The image where we are, although it looks almost at sea level, there is actually a difference of about 15 meters. Today it is a fishing spot, very crowded at this time for the run of the cojinúa.
